Shawn Campbell is a retired Air Force veteran of twenty one years. He is married to his lovely wife Caroline and has three beautiful children, Killian, Quinn and Owen.
Shawn was stationed in Europe for the majority of his time in the Air Force. His assignments include 6 years at Bitburg AFB (Germany), 2 years at Lakenheath AFB (England), 2 years at Tyndall AFB (Florida), 1 year at Osan AFB (Korea), 4 years at Ramstein AFB (Germany), 3 years as a recruiter in Portsmouth New Hampshire and 3 years at the Military Entrance Processing Station in Tampa Florida.
Shawn’s background in the Air Force is as an Aerospace Ground Equipment Mechanic. He was a mechanic first but held several Supervisory, Training and Quality Assurance positions during his first 15 years in service. His last six years were spent in Air Force Recruiting.
Although his entire time served in the Air Force was both enjoyable and rewarding, his time in recruiting gave him the most gratification of all. Recruiting gave him the ability to help others fulfill their desire to serve their country while at the same time providing them with the tools needed to reach their future personal and professional goals. It always amazed him to see how dedicated and how intelligent these future Airmen were. At twenty one years, the time has come for MSgt Campbell to say good-Bye and retire from the Air Force. Although it may be a bittersweet separation for MSgt Campbell, he leaves knowing that he has replaced himself thousands of times over with some of the most capable new Airmen that he has ever seen. These Airmen may only be starting their careers in the Air Force but they are our Nations future leaders.
Now begins the next chapter in Shawn's life; his future as a business man. Rolling Thunder Bike Ads is a company that has been in work for the past two plus years. The idea for this company spawned from both a love for bicycle riding and the sales background that Shawn received while recruiting for the U.S. Air Force. It has been said again and again that people should follow their passion and do what they love. Well, here it is "Rolling Thunder Bike Ads". Advertising in his eyes is exciting, it is everywhere and it takes so many different forms. A good portion of his job as a recruiter was to market the Air Force locally and generate leads. He would then refine those leads and hold interviews with qualified applicants. This experience gave him a huge insight to the world of sales and opened his eyes to the many different ways that small company's and large corporations market themselves to generate revenue.
He would brainstorm constantly while riding his Mountain Bike back and forth to work about what he should do when the time came for him to retire from the Air Force. While riding to work one day down one of the busiest roads in Tampa Bay an idea arose, it was a simple idea but it stuck and eventually became Rolling Thunder Bike Ads. The thought was that if there was a sign on his back, all these passing cars would be reading his message. That idea became his passion and from that point on he would brainstorm ways to build a better sign. That was over 2 years ago. The design and fabrication process started with rough drawings, 2 x 4's and some nails but after many prototypes, setbacks and test rides the final version was manufactured. This whole time the Rolling Thunder brand was also being developed. Now with the infrastructure in place, promotional materials on hand and a fleet of bike/billboard trailers ready to go, the last step was to retire from the Air Force. That time has come to pass and he has now hit the streets of Tampa Bay with his team of professional bike riders.
Shawn promises to make "Rolling Thunder Bike Ads" the Outdoor Media company of choice for both large and small businesses who wish to advertise in the Tampa Bay area.
